Mr. Den Wong, Senior Corporate Specialist of UCS was interviewed by Manivest Quarterly, sharing his experience in corporate information security risk management and cyber crime protection.

Information security has became one of the major concern for corporations and their senior management. With the commonly use of mobile devices at work, it is essential to formulate information security policies prevent data leakage. Information security threats including corporate espionage, disgruntled staff, hacker, malware and virus.

Regarding the common threats in information system, Den concluded,

The more the forms of cyber platforms, computers, and mobile devices, the higher the difficulties in security management. The popular use of social networking leads to the risk of data leakage.’ He continued, ‘Over 70% cybercrimes are led by internal issues such as careless and fraudulent staff.

Den is the head of UCS specialist team, who possess a wealth of experience with his last position as Chief Superintendent of the Hong Kong Police Force heading the technical division. He is dedicated to promote corporate governance to our corporate clients, through the implementation of security risk management. He introduces four categories of corporate security risk management as follows:

  1. Corporate Information Security Risk Assessment Formulate information security policies, including computing system design, alarming system, and emergency plan in ensuring safe information security risk management

  2. Information Security Audit Evaluate the effectiveness between existing implementation and information security policy

  3. Security Awareness Training Conduct training on security awareness, attitude, and responsibility, and the latest information security trend

  4. Information Security Occurrence Investigation Should security issue occurs, corporations should consult reliable corporate security specialists for investigation, evidence collection, damage examination, and recommendations on corrective action.
